Pirrewitje’s Fall and the Help of Forest Friends
On a beautiful summer day in the forest, Pirrewitje, the little gnome, was happily walking around. He had picked a basket full of flowers to decorate his home in the hollow tree. As he skipped with joy, he tripped over a hidden root and fell. “Ouch!” cried Pirrewitje, holding his knee. He had hurt himself and couldn’t stand up properly.
Fortunately, Oeloe, the wise owl, heard Pirrewitje’s cry and quickly flew to him. “What happened, Pirrewitje?” Oeloe asked worriedly.
“I fell and hurt my knee,” Pirrewitje sniffled.
Oeloe nodded understandingly and said, “Don’t worry, I’ll get help.” He spread his large wings and flew away, letting out a loud call to alert the other forest inhabitants.
Within minutes, cheerful squirrel Knabbel, playful bunnies Flop and Hop, and kind fox Fennek came running. “We’re here to help you, Pirrewitje!” they called out in unison.
Knabbel had a bag of soft moss leaves with him. “Here, this will help care for your knee,” he said, gently placing the moss on Pirrewitje’s knee. Flop and Hop brought delicious carrots and juicy leaves to cheer Pirrewitje up. Fennek, with his soft fur, sat next to Pirrewitje to keep him warm and comfort him.
After a while, Pirrewitje started feeling better. “Thank you so much, dear friends,” he said with a smile. “You’ve helped me so well!“
The animals stayed with Pirrewitje until the sun set and the stars appeared in the sky. They told stories and sang songs to cheer him up. Eventually, Pirrewitje felt completely better.
“I have such wonderful friends,” Pirrewitje said gratefully. “With you by my side, I always feel safe and loved.”
And so the day ended with a warm and happy feeling in the hearts of Pirrewitje and his forest friends. Together, they returned to their homes, knowing they could always count on each other.
