The game of tag
On a beautiful, sunny autumn day, the gnomes were playing in the forest. Pirrewit Wit Wit, the little gnome who lived in a hollow tree, had invited his friends for a game of tag. The weather was perfect, with leaves rustling cheerfully in the wind and acorns rolling on the ground.
Pirrewit stood in the middle of the open field and called out to his friends, “Are you ready for a game of tag?“
All the gnomes cheered! They loved running and playing in the forest. Pirrewit pointed to one of his friends, a gnome with a red pointed hat named Wipneus, and said, “You’re it!“
Wipneus laughed out loud and immediately started chasing the other gnomes. “I’m going to get you, I’m going to get you!” he shouted as he ran through the forest. The gnomes laughed and squealed with joy as they darted between the trees and hid behind large mushrooms.
Pirrewit was fast, but his friend Bloempje, a gnome girl with a yellow hat, was very nimble too. She ran over a pile of leaves and leapt gracefully over a small stream. “You won’t catch me, Wipneus!” she called out playfully.
But Wipneus didn’t give up. With a big leap, he finally tapped Bloempje on the shoulder. “Tag, you’re it!” he said with a big grin.
Now it was Bloempje’s turn to chase the others. She tried to catch Pirrewit, but he was clever and hid behind a big, old oak tree. The gnomes continued running, laughing, and having fun for a long time.
After a while, they sat down, tired but happy, on a bed of soft moss to rest. “What a fun game,” Pirrewit said with a smile. “But you know what would be even more fun? If we made a drawing of ourselves playing tag!“
Would you like to see a drawing of the gnomes playing tag?
