Pirrewitje’s New Year’s Celebration
The end of the year was approaching, and the gnome forest lay quietly under a glistening layer of snow. Pirrewitje felt this was a special moment to gather with all his friends and welcome the new year in a festive way. He decided to organize a New Year’s celebration for everyone in the forest.
Pirrewitje eagerly began the preparations. He decorated his tree house with pine branches, berries, and small pinecones that he had found in the forest. He also hung twinkling icicles that glistened softly in the moonlight.
When the evening of the celebration arrived, his friends came one by one. Bram the hedgehog brought a basket full of nuts, Sora the squirrel brought a handful of dried berries, and even Mollie the mouse arrived with tiny pieces of cheese for everyone. The whole house filled with wonderful scents and the cheerful sounds of laughter and chatter.
Pirrewitje poured everyone a cup of warm berry tea and suggested they look back on the past year. They shared their favorite moments and told each other stories of the adventures they had shared. They laughed at the funny memories, like the time Bram accidentally fell into a pile of leaves and looked like a walking stack of autumn.
Then Pirrewitje asked everyone to make a wish for the new year. They stood in a circle, closed their eyes, and each thought of their wish. Bram wished for even more adventures, Sora wished for happiness and friendship, and Mollie wished for a warm and safe place for everyone.
Pirrewitje himself wished that their friendship would always last, through every season. “As long as we have each other, every year will be beautiful,” he said with a smile.
After everyone shared their wish, they toasted with their cups of berry tea. They danced, sang, and enjoyed the delicious treats they had brought. The forest echoed with their songs, and even the stars seemed to twinkle along.
When the clock struck midnight and the new year began, they all went outside. Together, they looked up at the stars and promised to meet each year on this night, to remember their adventures and make new wishes.
And so they began the new year with warmth, friendship, and hearts full of beautiful memories. Pirrewitje knew this year would be filled with new adventures and joyful moments, all shared with his dear friends.
