Pirrewit Feeding the Birds
On a cold, sunny autumn morning, Pirrewit decided it was time to do something kind for his little feathered friends. He knew that the birds in the gnome forest could use a bit of extra food, now that the days were getting colder and it was harder for them to find seeds and berries.
Pirrewit put on his warm coat, his hat, and grabbed a basket full of treats: seeds, little bits of bread, and dried berries. He walked to the open clearing in the forest, where the birds liked to gather. When he arrived, a few curious birds were already perched on branches, their tiny eyes sparkling with anticipation.
“Come on, little birds!” Pirrewit called softly, as he carefully scattered some seeds on the ground. The birds fluttered down happily and began to peck right away. There were robins, sparrows, and even a small woodpecker that cautiously came closer.
Just as Pirrewit placed some dried berries on the ground, his friend, Speckle the sparrow, hopped over to him. “Thank you, Pirrewit! It’s sometimes hard to find enough food now that it’s colder,” chirped Speckle gratefully.
Pirrewit smiled. “I’m happy to help, Speckle! The forest is for all of us, and together we make sure everyone has enough.”
They sat quietly for a while, enjoying the peaceful scene as the birds feasted on the treats. Pirrewit felt happy and content, knowing he had done something good for his friends.
After a while, the basket was empty, and Pirrewit waved to the birds. “Until next time!” he called as he walked back to his home. The birds flitted around excitedly, their bellies full and ready for the colder days.
And so, it was another special day in the gnome forest, filled with kindness and care for one another.
