Pirrewit and the Frogs in the Pond

On a sunny spring morning, Pirrewit Wit Wit, the little gnome, was happily walking through the forest. He heard the sound of chirping birds and rustling leaves. As he took his daily walk, he decided to visit the pond, where there was always something exciting happening.

When Pirrewit arrived at the pond, he heard cheerful croaking. “What a commotion!” thought Pirrewit with a smile. He saw a group of frogs happily swimming and jumping around. The frogs, named Kwaku, Kwakeltje, and Kwik, were busy playing a game to see who could jump the highest.

“Kwaku, Kwakeltje, and Kwik, what are you doing?” asked Pirrewit curiously.

“We’re having a jumping contest, Pirrewit!” Kwaku replied enthusiastically. “Whoever can jump the highest wins the golden water lily!“

Pirrewit thought it was a fantastic idea and cheered the frogs on. Kwaku jumped first. With a big leap, he soared high above the water and landed with a splash back in the pond. Then it was Kwakeltje’s turn. She jumped high, but not as high as Kwaku. Finally, it was Kwik’s turn. He took a running start and jumped as high as he could. Splash! He landed just a bit higher than Kwaku.

“Hooray for Kwik!” cheered Pirrewit. “You have won the golden water lily!“

All the frogs clapped and cheered for their friend. They gave Kwik the beautiful golden water lily, which glowed beautifully in the sunlight. Pirrewit felt happy and proud of the frogs. They had worked so well together and encouraged each other.

“What a wonderful morning in the forest,” thought Pirrewit as he walked home. “Friendship and cooperation make everything so much more fun.“
